Invitation to join Homeshul, starting this weekend, 10th January
We have some exciting news about Jewish education provision for our primary age children this term.
The Education Working Group (EWG) have been in discussion with various other synagogues to see how they are managing this and have been very impressed with Bromley Reform Synagogue’s online cheder. This is currently running on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 11:00. Lessons are planned around a theme for the term, and include both Jewish Studies and Hebrew, at an age-appropriate level.
There are separate classes for each year group, led by experienced teachers who are keen to welcome more children.
Various members of the EWG have met with Bromley’s Head teacher to discuss their provision, and our member Anna Grant attended a trial session at Bromley with her five-year-old son at the end of last term. They found it accessible and engaging, and we would like to invite you now to sign up and see for yourselves.
The EWG feels that a partnership with Bromley would be a great way to provide for our children’s needs during lockdown, as we can see that they have an excellent team and resources and that their ’Homeshul’ is working well. This is intended as a temporary measure whilst our building is closed and will allow the EWG to focus on planning further for the future of education at Sinai, post covid.
We are delighted to tell you that we have come to an agreement with Bromley whereby you can register your children with them for this term immediately, if you would like to. The cost is £100 per child per term, paid in advance. If any family finds this pre-payment prohibitive, Sinai is willing to cover the cost for you in return for you agreeing to make two payments of £50 over the term, or three payments of £33. To make that arrangement, or discuss this further, please email
The term starts this Sunday 10th January, when the ongoing theme for the term will be introduced, so please contact
