We are approaching the World Zionist Congress elections in early June.  These elections are held every five years and are a great opportunity for our voice as Progressive Jews in the diaspora to be heard. The congress is the leading international organisation connecting and protecting Jewish communities globally, in more than 100 countries.

Its mission is to foster unity, represent the interests of the Jewish people, and to ensure the continuity and development of its religious, spiritual, cultural, and social heritage. You can find more information at https://www.worldjewishcongress.org/.

Progressive Judaism and our vision of Israel as a democratic, pluralistic state faces historic challenges. It is vital that efforts to relegate non-Orthodox Jews, women, LGBTQ+ Israelis, and ethnic minorities to secondary status are thwarted.  We need to ensure that Israeli Reform synagogues, their rabbis and cantors, values and our advocacy are properly funded, and this our opportunity to have a say.

If we don’t take our rightful share of the votes and resources, they will go to those who actively work to oppose our members' rights, our movement’s presence, and the values that define our Zionism.

Sinai will be asking you to vote for Arzenu UK candidates as we have done in previous elections. In order to do so, it is vital that you register to vote – registration will begin on 9th April and close on 12th May.  Watch here for more information as to how you can do this on line.
