There is no doubt the support this year has been unbelievable. As we write this, we have received in excess of 500 orders – more than in either of the previous two years. We also have other community groups who are still to confirm their requests.
We’ve been receiving stock daily however there are certain lines that, despite trying several different suppliers, we will not be receiving. This is as a direct result of the Coronavirus situation. One product that we know of that will not be arriving sadly is Gluten Free Matzah. This impacts on Marshall personally too – so we can appreciate the frustration and we can only apologise.
Due to the unprecedented demand, we also have customer orders that exceed the amount of stock we have. One example is Rakusens’ Matzah – we have orders for 1393 boxes but only have 900 boxes available.
Stock this year has been ordered based on sales for the previous 2 years and orders had to be placed prior to the virus outbreak. However, this year’s unforeseen events have seriously affected the demand. Where this situation arises, we will have to make some tough but fair decisions about order fulfilment.
Where possible, everyone will get at least one of the items they have ordered. If this is not possible, we unfortunately have to disappoint people. We will call people individually when their order is ready and confirm the items that they will not receive. We do, however, have alternatives that can be offered. The list of un-allocated items is also listed at the end of this message. Please have this to hand so we can ensure you can order replacements. We will then add these to your order prior to collection or delivery.
We will start calling people from Wednesday 1st April. No one is prioritised over another. If someone you know has received their order rest assured your call will still come. Don’t worry. Payment methods will be confirmed in the phone call. We cannot, for obvious reasons, provide the goods without payment receipt.
